Series 6 sterilizers were specifically developed to satisfy unique sterilization requirements. Whether you require a specific cycle, chamber size, loading height, jacket type or any modification entirely specific to your need BMM Weston can design a model to suit you. Machines constructed so far range from a 1132 litre (40 ft³) model to a vast 6682 litre (236 ft³) unit including full chamber jackets and modified sterilization cycles.
Custom Built Designs
The Series 6 machines are a range of machines developed around customer requirements. In recent projects we have developed a 236 ft³ talcum powder sterilization unit for a UK based international toiletries and laundry product manufacturer, a custom jacket series 4 style model for rapid chamber heating and cooling and a high-load 40 cu.ft machine.
Customised Cycles
In addition to the standard porous load and laboratory cycles, Series 6 Sterilizers can be configured to run cycles specifically designed to suit your individual needs. In addition to tweaking our standard range of cycles to meet various customer requirements, new cycles can be developed where required. New cycles created so far include a talcum powder sterilization cycle and a warm-up cycle.
Standard cycles can be configured from a series of discrete cycle stages. Each stage performs a seperate function and parameters controlling the function are variable within pre-defined limits. Similarly the user can ascribe warnings and fault conditions to parameters if they exceed specified limits.
Shown below is a graph displaying the stages used in construction of a typical fabric load cycle followed by descriptions of other standard cycles.
Typical Cycle
- Fabrics - porous materials
Air removal and positive pulsing with optional air detection. Sterilization at 134°C for a minimum 3 minutes. Deep vacuum to dry load. - Glassware - empty glassware and hollow ware
Air removal by negative pulsing Sterilization at 134°C for a minimum of 3 minutes. Deep vacuum to dry load. - Discard 1 - plastic discard and fluids up to 100ml
Air removal by negative pulsing. Steam admission and equilibration to 134°C. Sterilization at 134°C for a minimum 3 minutes. Rapid cooling to safe release temperature. - Discard 2 - discard fluids above 100ml
Air removal by pre-vacuum. Steam admission and equilibration to 121°C. Sterilization at 121°C for a minimum 15 minutes. Rapid cooling with air ballasting to safe release temperature. - Fluid - media and sealed or unsealed fluids
Air removal by pre-vacuum. Steam admission, equilibration and sterilization to set temperature and time. Rapid cooling with arie ballasting to safe release temperature. - Free Steaming - culture media
Air removal be pre-vacuum. Steam admission, equlibration and sterilization to 102 - 104°C and set time. Rapid cooling to safe release temperature. - Leak Rate Test - to check integrity of sterilizer chamber
Alternative cycles can be confirgured to suit customer requirements. Up to 30 different cycles can be supported by standard software.
Standard Compliant
As with all BMM Weston sterilizers, Series 6's are designed and built by the company in the UK to the most stringent requirements. We operate to ISO9001:2000 plus GAMP and our machines comply with all relevant European and British product standards and NHS guidelines including C14, BS3970, and PD5500.
