BMM Weston Rapid Pattern Change System
BMM Weston Rapid Change Systems reduce pattern changing times to a minimum by using false tables on which the customer’s pattern equipment is mounted. Generally two false tables are used. For normal mould making, a false table and pattern equipment is located and clamped to the machine table. When pattern change is called for, the false table is un-clamped and lifted clear of the machine table by a secondary set of rollers mounted on the draw posts.
Located on the right or left or the moulding machine is a two station trolley. Each station has one set of rollers designated to accept a false table and pattern equipment. The trolley can be moved manually backwards and forwards on floor mounted rails, in such a way as to present either of the two stations in a position to line up with the machine table.
To change patterns the trolley will have previously had the spare false table with its replacement pattern placed on one of the roller stations, the empty station will be lined up with the machine table by moving the trolley manually on its floor mounted rails.
The operator then pushes the pattern to be changed onto the trolley, moves the trolley one station and pushes the replacement false table and pattern onto the machine. Draw down and normal running are then selected thus locating and clamping the replacement false table to the machine table. The pattern change has now been completed and the machine is ready for use.
