BMM Weston Pattern Shuttle System
BMM Weston's Pattern Shuttle System is based on the use of two false tables on which the customer’s cope and drag pattern equipment is mounted.
Normal mould making operation of this shuttle is as follows:
With the two false tables and respective cope and drag pattern equipment in their working position i.e. one in the idle station and the other located and clamped to the machine table. A half mould is made (fig.1.).
At the end of the draw stroke secondary rollers mounted and the draw posts lift the unclamped false table and pattern clear of the machine table. The shuttle then operates changing the false tables and patterns positioning the appropriate pattern onto the machine ready to make the other half mould (Fig. 1 & 2).
This procedure is repeated until ta pattern change is required. When the draw up pattern change is selected and the false table and pattern equipment in the idle station is raised on rollers ready to be removed and a replacement pattern is substituted (Fig. 3 & 4).
The shuttle is then operated changing the false tables and the change procedure is repeated (Fig. 5 & 6)
